Grand Canyon Solo Tour: 20 Miles From Amarillo

Day Two: Through Oklahoma City, Amarillo, Albuquerque, and Flagstaff

I've stopped at a Love's just shy of my next way-point, to rest and refuel. Making pretty good time on Interstate 40 (Route 66) today, and got a head-start this morning since I couldn't force myself to sleep in... Nervous excitement, or that damn high-range beeping my sister claims not to hear in her house? Probably a bit of both.

The driving in most of Oklahoma was less than pleasant. Long stretches of construction with narrow lanes, washboard highways, and more dull scenery. Only a few roadside windmill generator farms were worthy of note. However, with nothing much of interest to ponder but sky, I have begun to notice a distinct variation among the cloudscapes between different regions of the country. Weather patterns change, but the hue and texture of each state's sky is definitely unique.

Perhaps I shall start collecting clouds! :-)

Perhaps I am going a bit mad out here all on my own! :-)

I truly would be if it weren't for my MP3 player...

Also, I need to caffienate.
